The Nikki Borodi Band has often been regarded as a cross between rock, funk, trip-hop, and soul, combined to create a sound like that of Bjork, Portishead, and Kate Bush, all rolled into one. This afro diva sings, writes, plays keys, guitar, and bass. She is currently finishing a self produced/engineered record called Chakra Rock due to release in April. Nikki Borodi has played venues in New York City such as Piano's, Luna Lounge, Arlene's Grocery, Sin-e, The Bitter End, The Cutting Room, CBGBs Gallery, Le Bar Bat, The Sidewalk Cafe, C-Note, MOMA PS1, Kennys Castaways, The Lions Den, Rockwood Music Hall, and The Continental. Nikki has also performed at Madison Square Garden as part of the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, at Roseland with Morcheeba and appeared on Yoko Onos album, Blueprints for a Sunrise.
