This stunning piece is assembled from pieces collected in Hungary and Italy. The base piece is 100% linen from the 1960's and was made in Austria by Sportalm. This blazer is primarily black with green and red trim. Most buttons are original engraved hearts that appear to be pewter other than the two red ones I found at another shop. The red belt covered in metal hearts was also found independently. It looks like it was made for this jacket so I attached it with braided leather belt loops as an adornment which is functional as a closure as well. I applied a Hungarian woven textile coasters from the 1960's on the back. The rhinestone chest piece was acquired during a flood in Venice, Italy, a magical time to be sourcing treasures. 3D embroidered flowers being used in this series are from Hungary and give it a a military look. Whomever gets this unique beauty will be a lucky one!

This piece comes from a series I created from materials sourced from independent specialty and second hand shops in the countryside and city of Hungary, my ancestral lineage. All of the details are vintage aside from some trim and buttons which were selected in Budapest. These magical pieces of wearable art are a journey through a European textile treasure hunt. The results are truly unique jackets, vests and accessories that are impossible to recreate a duplicate of.
